November 11th - Remembrance Day

November 11th is a very special day. It is the day we commemorate the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and of civilians in times of war. Remembrance Day is recognized on November 11th to recall the end of World War I on that date in 1918.

Please join all of us at the Forget Me Not Cat Sanctuary in recognizing this special day, and in honoring all who serve our country with bravery.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

— Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 - 1918)

  1. Lest we forget. Too many lost over the years, particularly lately in battle. We must always remember them.
